Where Would You Begin a Campaign in Khassid?

If you were starting a campaign in Khassid, where would you begin?

Would you start in a crowded harbor where merchants, sailors, priests, and smugglers all have their own version of the truth?

Would you begin in a small village where something has gone wrong, and the characters are the only people willing—or foolish enough—to investigate?

Maybe the campaign begins with the discovery of an old ruin, a forgotten road, a missing ship, a disputed border, or a religious conflict that is far more complicated than it first appears.

I have always liked beginnings that feel small.

The characters do not need to begin by saving the world. They may not even understand the larger forces moving around them. Sometimes the best campaigns begin with a local problem, a personal obligation, or one unanswered question that slowly reveals something much larger.

The Morgdhavian Archipelago offers plenty of places to begin, but I am curious about the kind of opening that appeals to you.

Do you prefer:

A city full of intrigue?

A remote settlement with secrets?

A voyage into the unknown?

A war already underway?

A mystery tied to the gods?

Or something else entirely?

You do not need to know the setting well to answer. Tell me what kind of campaign opening immediately gets your attention—and what would make you want to keep playing after the first session.
